I've got a guitar that was finished in PolyWhey waterborne lacquer, I've finished it twice and I do not like the way it came out. I would like to shoot nitro over it. My plan is to sand it down with 320 then shoot 2 coats of 1# shellac followed by vinyl sealer and then nitro.

Anyone see anything wrong with this plan or have a different recommendation?

I've decided to take it back to bare wood and start over with a nitro finish.
